Wild naturally fallen Bursera Graveolens 100% pure essential oil. High quality artisan low pressure slow-cycle distillation.
A traditional Peruvian shaman I worked with a little, and respect a lot as a grand master of plants, told me that for him only fallen wood can be the wood ready for spiritual and medicine uses. Not the trees which are intentionally cut... wisdom of tradition, and ultimate sustainability.
The wood for this oil comes from a few naturally fallen wild trees, gathered in the same corner of Ecuadorian forest. It was dry cured for 5 years prior to distillation. After curing the different qualities of wood were separated. Only the core of the best heartwood was used for this distillation, the rest was kept as shavings for incensing and smudging. The distillation was made by a skilled artisan, who is beautifully obsessed with slow distillation cycles and quality.
As a result of all the above, the oil is remarkably smooth for a Palo Santo, offering an oil without any sharp notes, while conserving the vibrancy and depth that are so important to a full palo santo experience.
I keep an airtight jar of such heartwood on my working desk, and open it when I need a focus boost or a deep relaxing breath. The depth and intensity are amazing.
This oil is the best Palo Santo I have experienced: Intense, stimulating but also ultimately very calming, high energy, deep, delicious balanced top notes dance on top of remarkably deep woody body. Long lasting. Heavenly. I have a few clients who are into spiritualities from South Americas, and they told me it was likewise the best oil they had ever encountered.
Palo santo para limpiar tu casa de la mala energia, palo santo para la buena suerte
[traditional South American curandero proverb: Palo santo to cleanse your house of bad energy, palo santo for good luck]
Palo Santo belongs to the same family as frankincense and myrrh (Burseraceae). Its use reportedly dates back to the Inca era for its spiritual purifying properties. Use remains traditional in South America, especially in Peru and Ecuador. According to local customs, it is used against mala energía: bad energy.
Palo Santo may be burned as “incense” by lighting shavings of palo santo wood. In Peru, shamans and traditional curanderos light palo santo sticks and the rising smoke will enter the "energy field" of ritual participants to "clear misfortune, negative thought imprints, and 'evil spirits'".
Global Yoga, neo-shamanic and energy practitioners utilize it often in this way or for smudging a space.
Energy sensitive Aromatherapists use the oil applied to the body, at the base of the skull or on the spine, at the location of other different chakras or on on the wrists, to increase relaxation and energy circulation. It is also used and joints to alleviate pain. Obligatory disclaimer : do not attempt to cure anything with essential oils without a qualified aromatherapist.
