A remarkable plant with strong associated symbolism

The flowers are made of papery bracts that retain their color and shape after the flower is dried. This unique characteristic is what inspired the name "L'Immortelle" (everlasting; In French, literally : the one who doesn't die). Beyond its physical properties, "L'Immortelle" also carries symbolic meaning, representing longevity, resilience, and even eternal beauty. In various traditions, around the Mediterranean, it has historically been associated with healing, protection, and good luck. 

The botanical name of plant is  known as "Helichrysum," derived from the Greek words "helios" (sun) and "chrysos" (gold), referring to the flower's golden color and association with the sun, as the plant is both a lover of the sun and of heat, which she both needs to thrive.

Olfactive profile and perfumery uses

This oil is multifaceted and its scent can be best described as a warm, sweet, and herbaceous aroma with notes of honey, hay, and a hint of suede, spice and tobacco. It also has subtle floral, hesperide and tea undertones.

In perfumery, L'Immortelle is appreciated for its rich, complex, and long-lasting fragrance.  It is used to add depth and a distinctive character to fragrances. It stars in famous perfumes like Chanel No. 5, Dior J’adore or Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather. 

It is an excellent fixative, helping to anchor and prolong other notes.
