Update for US customers :
Since the 12th of January 2026 we ask customers from the USA to contact us (or check their email) before we can finalize their shipments.
By default the less expensive option for priority registered shipments is proposed at checkout but it requires your input for finalization.
We can also propose other tailored shipments options by private companies (eg FedEx) but they are substantially pricier.
Summary for all international orders
We have chosen the international parcel service as our new default option, which has become the best option to offer priority and registration for your orders.
It has a notable disadvantage compared to our previous option - the service discontinued by the Universal Postal Union : it is pricier in all cases, and substantially so for very light parcels, as it is the same cost for shipping 50 grams or 2 kg (where the next weight / price threshold starts)
It remains significantly less costly than FedEx and similar services.
We are aware that this will be dissuasive for some international customers and we are very sorry about this change, which is completely out of our hands.
We will compensate with generosity in gift samples to thank the customers who keep supporting our work.
Of course, we still offer free shipping for international orders which qualify, based on order amount and country of destination. Read all about it here.
Full context : The New Universal Postal Union Rules
At the turn of the new year (2026) we had quite the surprise with our first international shipments. The Universal Postal Union (UPU) completely overhauled the service we had been using since the opening of the webshop. Even our local partners at SwissPost were not prepared for those changes and only discovered them a few days before their implementation.
In short : effective January 1, 2026, the UPU has implemented a mandatory global change that restricts International Registered Mail exclusively to letters / documents.
This change means it is no longer permitted to send "goods" or "merchandises" using the registered service.
Consequently, we were left with three options :
- send international goods with the reformed system which means a basic tracking but no registration for the shipments
- use the "international parcel post" service
- use a provider like FedEX or DHL.
Why we send all our our goods registered
The registered service provides notable advantages :
- parcels are delivered against signature, so it offers proof of delivery
- it includes basic insurance
- in case of problems with the delivery or with the postal / custom services, the parcels are returned to us (it is not rare that non registered international parcels disappear in case of such problems)

From the three options outlined above, the first one is excluded because of the absence of registration. FedEx would be possible but is much more costly (prohibitively more so than the solution we chose). We thus chose the international parcel service as our new default option, which basically provides the same service as before with a notable disadvantage : it is pricier in all cases, and substantially so for very light parcels, as it is the same cost for 100 grams or 1 kilo and a half. |
