While its core remains beautifully linear, sweet, and reliable on the skin, it is simultaneously dynamic, allowing subtle individual facets to dance to the surface and recede in turns over hours.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFour hours in, all primary olfactive facets remain beautifully present with clarity. While the overall volume naturally dials down slightly in intensity. The 'sweet old Port' wine note shifts  to the background, allowing an antique 'old library' soft leather book cover texture to move into the foreground.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe longevity is impressive and the oil shows remarkable structural cleanliness. There is zero cloudiness, abrupt souring, or metallic off-notes, which indicates succesful \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/scentient-nature.net\/blogs\/heartnotes-blog\/how-do-essential-oils-and-attars-age\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ecuring\u003c\/a\u003e, molecular integrity and clean aging.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeyond that point, here are my wearing notes :\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe drydown reveals an occasional velvety hint of powderiness (that is there around the 7-8th hour before receding) resting a top the clear and persistent core of the profile and its sweet woody ambery backbone. It remains true to itself like this for hours and hours. I monitored it 14 hours on my forearm, attesting to the quality of the original oil and it's high patchoulol content.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter a full night of sleep, so 22 hours in, it is still vividly (for such length) perceptible after some being rubbed on the bedding, and even regained full patchouli definition for a while, as friction warmed the deepest, most stubborn base molecules of \u003cspan class=\"zhvwWe\"\u003epatchoulol, norpatchoulenol and others \u003c\/span\u003ethat were bound tightly to skin lipids. The dry, old-library woodiness of the Karnataka patchouli cuts through the dense, buttery sweetness of the sandalwood, while the sandalwood rounds out the edges of the Port note, turning it into a smooth, luxurious, and regalian wood harmony.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLayered with our high-altitude Rose Otto, it created what I called a nocturnal nectar, bringing out the hidden shadows of the bright and lush rose otto. When paired, the volatile, green, and honeyed top notes of the rose instantly fuse with the patchouli’s balsamic opening.
